Overview
Bioregenerative scalp treatment with platelet rich plasma
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) hair restoration harnesses the healing power of your own blood to stimulate thinning or dormant hair follicles. Platelets contain high concentrations of growth factors and cytokines that promote tissue regeneration. When concentrated and injected into the scalp, they send a powerful signal to follicles to strengthen and, where the follicle is still viable, produce new hair growth.
The treatment begins with a small blood draw, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich layer. This concentrated plasma is injected carefully across the areas of hair thinning. Over the following three to six months, patients with active follicles typically see improvement in hair density and thickness.
Hair thinning affects both men and women and can result from hormonal changes, certain medications, illness or stress. PRP is a well-established, entirely natural option that works with your body rather than introducing any foreign substance.

What to expect
Your treatment journey
- 1
Consultation
Your scalp and hair loss pattern are assessed, your medical history reviewed and suitability for PRP confirmed. Your practitioner explains the realistic outcomes you can expect.
- 2
Treatment
A small amount of blood is drawn, then centrifuged to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma. With topical numbing cream applied for comfort, the PRP is injected across the areas of thinning. Sessions take around an hour.
- 3
Aftercare and review
Mild scalp tenderness and some redness for 24 to 48 hours is normal. Improvement in hair growth typically becomes visible three to six months after the initial course, with gradual continued progress beyond that.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
How does PRP stimulate hair growth?
Platelets in your blood contain growth factors and cytokines that signal tissue repair and regeneration. When concentrated and injected into the scalp, they stimulate follicles that have miniaturised due to thinning, encouraging stronger and sometimes new hair growth in follicles that are still alive.
Is PRP suitable for everyone with hair loss?
PRP works best where follicles are still present and active. It is not effective for areas of complete baldness where follicles are no longer viable. A consultation assesses your pattern of hair loss and advises whether PRP is appropriate.
How many sessions do I need?
A typical initial course is three sessions, usually spaced four to six weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every six to twelve months help sustain the improvement.
When will I see results?
Hair growth responds gradually. Most patients notice improvement in hair thickness and density three to six months after beginning treatment, with results continuing to develop beyond that.
Is the procedure painful?
Topical numbing cream is applied before the injections to minimise discomfort. Most patients tolerate the session well. Some scalp tenderness for a day or two after treatment is normal.
How much does PRP hair treatment cost?
Pricing depends on the number of sessions agreed for you and is confirmed in writing at your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
