Overview

A deeper TCA-based peel that corrects pigmentation, scars and uneven texture

The Obagi Blue Peel is a clinical-grade resurfacing treatment using a controlled concentration of Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) blended in a distinctive blue solution. The TCA penetrates into the skin, breaking down bonds between damaged and aged cells and triggering the skin's natural renewal process. The result is clearer, smoother, tighter-looking skin with a more even tone.

Unlike lighter superficial peels, the Obagi Blue Peel can be calibrated to reach deeper layers of the skin, making it effective against wrinkles, uneven pigmentation (including sun damage and melasma), acne scarring and enlarged pores. Our practitioners customise the peel strength to suit your skin type and the depth of the concern being treated.

The peeling process begins five to ten days after application, as the treated skin sheds and is replaced by healthier cells. Some improvement is visible immediately after the session; the full result emerges once peeling is complete. A course of two to three sessions is typically recommended for optimal, lasting results.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How is the Obagi Blue Peel different from the Blue Radiance Peel?

The Blue Peel uses TCA (Trichloracetic Acid), which penetrates more deeply into the skin and causes visible peeling over five to ten days. It is better suited to more established concerns such as deeper pigmentation, scarring and wrinkles. The Blue Radiance Peel is a lighter salicylic-acid blend with no significant downtime, suited to maintenance and milder concerns.

What skin concerns can it treat?

The Blue Peel is effective against pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, acne scarring, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone. Its adjustable depth means it can be tailored to the severity of the concern.

Is the treatment painful?

You will feel warmth and some tingling or mild stinging during application, which settles quickly. No anaesthetic is required.

How long does the peeling last?

Visible peeling typically begins around day five and resolves within ten days. During this period we advise avoiding social events where you would prefer your skin to look its best.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients see a significant improvement after one to two sessions. Your practitioner will recommend the appropriate number based on your skin and the result you are aiming for.

How much does the Obagi Blue Peel cost?

Pricing depends on the treatment and what is agreed for you and is confirmed in writing at your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
