Aftercare

Expect swelling, tenderness and possibly bruising at the injection sites over the first few days. Apply a cold compress gently on the first evening and sleep with your head slightly raised. Your practitioner will show you how and how often to massage the treated area, and it is important to follow that advice, as it helps the product settle evenly and reduces the chance of small lumps forming. Leave make-up off for at least 12 hours, and avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours. Postpone facials, other facial treatments and dental work for around two weeks. The hyaluronic acid component gives an immediate result, but the firming effect from collagen stimulation develops over the following months, so the full outcome takes time to appear. Contact the clinic if swelling worsens after the first few days or a lump persists, and immediately if you develop severe pain, blanching of the skin or any change in your vision.
